Our First Montenegrin Food Encounter

Shortly after checking into our hotel, we set out on a walk through part of the city center.  We saw first-hand why this is a place of cafes, and I will publish images of some we encountered, as well as my reflections on how this reflects food and culture in Montenegro.  Needless to say, we were exhausted from our journey, but eager to immerse ourselves.  At the recommendation of our host at the hotel, we visited a local restaurant, Pod Volat.
This was a wonderful experience for both of us.  The restaurant is located on the old square of the city in the shadow of the old clock tower.  We had a meal consisting of sopska (a salad topped with feta), a mixed grill of home made sausages and fried potatoes. This experience touched us in many ways.    It was an introduction to local foods, but it also helped us to appreciate how people socialized around their food in a traditional setting.
The interior walls were decorated with pictures from the old city.  The following images are of the restaurant and some of its food.
