The drive took more than three hours. On the way, we encountered our first snow on the ground in Montenegro.
That evening, Susan and I made a presentation on food and freedom in commemoration of Martin Luther King Day. I lectured about the importance of sharing meals and provided images of lunch counters in America. I then encouraged discussion about the Civil Rights Movement, sit-ins and a hero of the movement, Georgia Gilmore. We then engaged participants in making a typical lunch platter consisting of grilled cheese sandwiches, potato chips, pickle spears and Fanta orange drink.
Our program was covered by several television networks. This evening, Susan and I watched us and our program on television.
